Like most of the polyolefins, Polypropylene is highly resistant to solvents and chemicals. It has outstanding resistance to water and other inorganic environments. It resists most strong mineral acids and bases, but, like the other polyolefins, it is subject to attack by oxidizing agents.

Polypropylene fittings are not NSF 51 certified for use with food, beverages and not NSF 61 certified use with potable water. Please see Eldon James Natural Nylon, Kynar, and HDPE
listings if you require fittings with these certifications.

White Polypropylene fittings exhibit the same physical and chemical resistance properties as Natural Polypropylene. These fittings contain a percentage of recycled material sourced from our Natural Polypropylene, virgin material production runs. A white colorant is added to differentiate our White Polypropylene fittings from Natural Polypropylene fittings. If your application does not require lot traceability, NSF certification, or a fitting that meets USP XXI Class VI requirements (for medical applications) these fittings represent an excellent value. White Polypropylene fittings are manufactured to the same tolerances and high quality standards as all EJ fittings.

Polypropylene has excellent resistance to environmental stress-cracking. Acceptable sterilization methods include Gamma Radiation and Ethylene Oxide, see sterilization chart for details.

Natural Polypropylene fittings represent an economical choice for a Naturals Materials fitting. They meet USP XXI Class VI requirements and for certain applications, are less expensive alternative to Kynar
