How Antimicrobial Protection Works:

How Silver Affects Microbes - Silver ions contained within a 100% inorganic ceramic carrier are released through
a unique and controlled ion exchange process. Silver ions at the surface of the product that come in contact with bacteria
and other microbes disrupt the electron transfer and respiration within the cells.

Safe For Humans - Silver is not toxic to humans and animals. The silver ions in AgION antimicrobial are 100%
inorganic. Studies have demonstrated the acute toxicity of AgION antimicrobial compound to be less toxic than ordinary
table salt. AgION antimicrobial protected products are safe and effective enough for use in food and water contact
applications. AgION antimicrobial is registered with the EPA and is also FDA recognized.

Effective Against Microbes - The controlled release of silver ions can be engineered to provide continuous
antimicrobial protection for the life of the product. The AgION antimicrobial is compounded into polymer resins
used to manufacture the treated product providing integral protection. AgION antimicrobial compound works
proactively against a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi and other microbes. In laboratory studies, AgION protected
products have been proven to reduce bacteria on the treated product by as much as 99.999%, or 5-log reduction.

Antimicrobial Resistance - Unlike 'organic' based antimicrobial agents commonly found in antibacterial soaps,
silver is a naturally occurring metal ion. Silver has not been shown to contribute to the creation of  'super bugs', as has
the overuse of antibiotics and other antibacterial agents.
